This report is going to discuss the different types of actions that are available to you when it comes to success in business and in life. There is so much more to taking action than just going out and doing something and that’s what the focus of this report is all about. Let’s Talk About Cause and Effect Actions can be put into different categories with the understanding that if you take a certain action you’ll achieve a certain result. The action can cause a problem or it can cause an opportunity and you generally don’t take an action that is going to cause a problem. Every problem and opportunity has some kind of effect associated with it. There are things you need to take into consideration when dealing with cause and effect. For example, planting an acorn is supposed to equal an oak tree. This is the cause and effect, but if you plant an acorn
in the desert you’re not going to get an oak tree. What I want to focus on is particular actions that relate to ‘cause problems and effects’ and ‘opportunities and effects’. Hindsight is 20/20
When you consider hindsight you’re looking at an action you took that caused something to happen. This action may have caused a certain problem and you had to take what is called a corrective action. You take a corrective action to make sure you don’t repeat or start developing a pattern. One of the first actions you need to take is corrective action. If you look in hindsight and you see there is a certain effect that has already taken place because of something you’ve done or something someone else has done, you’ll need to take what is called an adaptive action. You’ll be taking an action to adapt to certain effects that have already taken place. An
example of adaptive action that you see all the time is change in technology and the internet.
Corrective action and adaptive action are two actions you use based on hindsight. To summarize you use corrective action to prevent that cause from happening again and you use adaptive
action to adapt to what is changing in your environment based on effects that have taken place.
There are other actions you need to look at also. You can look into the future and take preventative action. This is where you ensure certain things won’t happen. You can also take contingency action. Contingency action is based on foresight and taking action on what might happen. Below is an example of contingency action. You walk into an office building and you see a no smoking sign. In terms of action, the no smoking sign is a preventative action. It is to prevent people from smoking in the building and causing a fire. If someone decided they were going to smoke in the building and a fire took place, there are fire extinguishers in the building. The existence of the fire extinguishers is the contingency action. What if the fire took place? The existence of automatic sprinklers is an example of adaptive action because the environment will automatically adapt to the fire and smoke in the building and trigger the sprinklers.
There are two more actions that I want to discuss and these are promoting actions and exploiting actions.

Relationships in Business
Do you remember that saying that goes, “If you keep on doing what you’ve always done,
you’re going to keep on getting what you always got?” A lot of people believe that to be
true. I don’t.
That saying suggests that nothing changes and that everything is going to remain static.
That’s not true. The fact is, if you keep on doing what you’ve always done, it’s going to get
worse, absolutely worse. What I want to discuss in this report is how we can make things
better.
Here are two critical things:
I know there are a lot of things to look at when it comes to business but relationships are
one of the most critical things we have. No man is an island unto himself. Nothing great
in the world has ever been accomplished in isolation. It always happens in groups or
relationships.
Relationships are important. One of my mentors said, “Relationships are like currents.
They’re either taking you towards the pit, or they’re taking you towards the palace.” All of
our relationships are either links to our past or bridges to our future.
I’ve put relationships in four different categories. If you think about it, there are people
in our lives that add, subtract, multiply and divide. If you want to put this on a sheet of
paper, you can create a quadrant. On the left side you would have the people that create
positive energy and on the right side you have the people that create negative energy. The
people that create positive energy are the people that add to our life or help to multiply
your life.
The people that create negative energy are the people that subtract from our lives, or
divide. They try to create a wedge between us and our dreams.
Think about the people in your life. Who were the people that have come in and added?
This can be personal or professional.
I have some great multipliers in my life and I look at these multipliers as people that have
constantly looked to connect me with other people.
I also have to take the position - and you do too that if you look at yourself and look at
your relationships, from your perspective, do you add and multiply or do you subtract
and divide? If you were to ask the people in your life, would they say that you add and
multiply or that you subtract or divide?
This is very important because the quality of the relationships that you have are what
impact your life. They also impact your business.

The Intangible Business Assets That Make Business Work
When you think of business assets, what comes to mind? Most people tend to think about how much money they have, how many clients they have or how much equipment they have.
They tend to think in terms of tangible business assets. These are important but a great deal of your business success rides on intangible assets. Your human capital is an intangible asset. Think about the people in your business and the skills and talent they bring. Information capital is another asset. Your information systems and networks allow you to get critical information when you need it. You can then use this information to give you an edge in your business. Organizational capital is another asset. This includes teamwork and how your people work together. This can also include your ability as a team to execute things. You cannot touch these assets but they are just as important if not more important than the tangible assets in business.
Your personal intangible assets are another aspect. There are three things in business that are absolutely critical and they are all personal intangible assets. If you have these, every single thing that you want to accomplish in your business will be yours. Without these you will struggle.
They are very basic but extremely powerful. They are focus, consistency and patience. Focus

The Skill Gap

they don’t find enough pleasure in the process of learning what it is they are supposed to
learn from buying all these different programs.
I want to say to you that knowledge is important. Knowledge is power. I know some
people won’t agree with this and they may say that knowledge isn’t power. Try taking
action on the wrong knowledge and find out what happens to you.
Imagine business as a two sided coin, one side of the coin is action, and the other side
is knowledge. They have to go together. Knowledge is important because we have to

Tic-Tac-Toe Can Build Your Business
In this report I want to discuss strategic goals in business. To start off, let me first ask you this question: What is the real strategic goal of your business? In my opinion the strategic goal of any business is to build and advance your position. Every single person has a position. The strength of this position is not determined in isolation. This can be a huge issue for some people. Think about the typical SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) that a person can do on their business. There is nothing wrong with doing a SWOT analysis but when you start talking about how strong you are, you need to realize that sometimes it’s impossible to do analysis in isolation because all strengths are relative. You need to ask the question ‘You are
strongest compared to what?’ If you think about the amount of money you’re making, the amount of money you’re making in your business is related to the strength of your current position. When the economy takes a down turn people don’t throw their money away in a locker. They don’t lock up their credit cards. They continue to spend. The interesting thing is that when an economy takes a downturn it actually reveals who has the strongest position. The people with the weakest positions are the people that lose the most. It is important to keep in mind that the strength of your position is relative to something. Think about your age. Your age is an objective reality. The way people actually view your age however is subjective. You could be 40 years old and to a 20 year old you’re old. You could be 40 years old but compared to somebody that’s 80 or 90 you’re young. While your age might be an objective reality, how people may actually view it is subjective. The same goes for every other kind of position that you might have. The question you need to ask is: How do I go about building and advancing my position? I believe the secret to building and advancing your position is embedded in a game of Tic-Tac-Toe. Here’s what I want you to do. I want you to stop reading this report and grab someone and ask them to play a quick game of Tic-Tac-Toe with you. I want you to play it really fast, because I want to illustrate
what this is, as far as the 3 set move. Ok, now that you’ve played a quick game of Tic-Tac-
Toe, I want you to think about the secret of strategic flexibility. I know the game of Chess is an unbelievably great metaphor for strategy and strategy in business. Even a game of Checkers can be used if you want to try to demonstrate strategy in business. In the game of Tic-Tac-Toe, we have what’s called a 3 set move. I want you to write these down. What I want to do is try to give you a game that is simple and that almost anyone of any age can play. I want you to see how
strategy is not necessarily something t h a t ’s extremely complex, at least not being strategically
flexible. Move Number 1 – Move to the position that gives us the most options What do you do when you’re playing a game of Tic- Tac-Toe? The first thing you do is move to the position
that gives you the most options. Think about that for a moment.

Turn-Fear-To-Power
A few years ago, the US Army carried out a research project to find out what made the best soldiers. They weren’t looking to see if this had anything to do with lack of fear because they felt that fear and the emotional reaction that came with it was something that would sharpen a person’s senses. In their research, they wanted to see how people could respond to fear and go into a heightened state of awareness, where they could shake off the fear. They wanted to see what the emotional reaction was and how it could be used to get things done. The army came up with a simple test. They took some well trained soldiers and ordered them to give a speech on a topic that they know nothing about. These soldiers were to give the speech in front of a large group of people that were total strangers to them. These soldiers were literally thrust into the
unknown. The army then monitored the reaction. For every single person who took part in this research test, their heart rate shot up, their blood pressure spiked, there was an increase in dry mouth and in rapid shallow breathing. This is everything that is associated with a person who is stressed and reacting to the stress. The psychiatrists were looking for those soldiers who
could psychologically and physically return to a normal state after the initial shock. They felt that these soldiers would be the ones to lead. They found that the best soldiers were able to do
this. These soldiers took the impact of the initial shock of the fear and they were able to quickly reorient themselves to a state where they took advantage of the adrenaline that was pumping through their bodies. They were able to take advantage of the heightened state of awareness that fear can bring. When I think about turning fear into power, I think that fear is power –
and it really depends on how we use it. There are so many people who crumble under fear
and these people become fear’s servant. They become a slave to the fear. Fear can act like a ball
and chain or a straight jacket on your life if you let it. Take the fear, recognize it. Understand that it’s not an absence of fear but a heightened level of courage that lets you go ahead and move forward. Overcoming the Fear I ask myself questions on a regular basis. I have questions that relate to different areas of my personal and business life. I have what I call question banks.
I collect questions from other people, from watching movies and from reading books.

Defining Your Finest Hour
Winston Churchill is known for some great sayings, one of which includes. The purpose of this report is to allow you to recognize that whatever is challenging your soul… this is your

One thing that you have to understand is that there is a difference between truth and what is true. Truth is something that could be considered an objective reality and every element of it can be verified. There is a lot of truth to be found in the historic past. What is true however is really subjective and reflects the immediate circumstances. It can be clouded by your own perceptions and reality. It can be clouded by your own paradigms of what’s possible and what’s impossible. As far as what you see as being true, that can also be clouded by your self esteem and self
image. Some things that are true today can be based on emotion. It could be true that your current circumstances are what they are. It could be true you don’t have a lot of money right now. It could be true you’re feeling heavy in your heart right now. It could be true many people think lowly of you. It could be true many things have failed in your past. It could be true you don’t really think that highly of yourself. It could be true that you feel like giving up. It could be true you feel discouraged or maybe even a little depressed. You could be so pessimistic and have all the reasons why this is right for you. You tell yourself and the world why you can’t accomplish certain things and why your life is the way it is. If this is you, then this report is here to tell you to hold on and to be strong. You may be focusing on the barriers you see in your life. These barriers just increase your doubt and anxiety. They create great pessimism within you and

Left Sided Vs. Right Sided Which one are you?
It was a cold day many years ago when I found myself lying back down on a slab of cold concrete. I had been shot. I was lying there thinking about my entire life, wondering how in the world I allowed myself to get to this point. I had just stared into the barrel of a gun. At that moment, another person held my life in his hands. What he chose to do next would have a huge impact
on my life. To this day I thank God for his mercy. He could have shot me in the head but he chose to shoot me in the leg instead. My life was spared but the experience changed me.
I began thinking about so many different things. I began to wonder why I had allowed myself to be in This question is what I want to talk to you about. This is what I figured out and it completely changed my life. There are two sides: Left side Right side This has nothing to do with politics or which side of the brain controls what functions. Let me explain. The Left-Sided Person
On the left side, there are people who are plagued by their past. They’re completely immobilized, paralyzed by all the things that have happened in their past. They’re perplexed about their present. They have no idea what it is they should really be doing right now. Many of these people actually even compete against themselves. A business person for example, may want to grow their business but they’re afraid to spend money. They want to have success in their life but they’re afraid to take risks. They want huge rewards but they don’t want to work.
This leads to a person with conflicting goals competing against each other. The end result is a great deal of friction in their life. These people are also foolish when it comes to their future. They have no definition about their future. They have abstract ideas of what it is they want to accomplish in their life. To sum it up, left-sided people are plagued by their past, perplexed by the present and foolish about their future. Left-sided people stop shooting for really high things
in life. They don’t allow themselves to be compelled by anything. This goes for their personal and business life. People are constantly saying that you need to be realistic. Realistic expectations are not about having remote expectations. Realistic expectations are not about having low expectations. this situation. How had things gotten so bad for me? I did what most people
would do in my situation. I felt sorry for myself… until this question came to mind. Does The Present Create The Future or Does The Future Create The Present?

Living Under the Influence
You’ve always heard that a negative attitude can have a profound effect on your life. Did you know that it can also dramatically impact your business as well? To get you into the right frame of thought, I want to give you a scenario to introduce the concept of negativity using an example that relates to alcohol and being intoxicated. Imagine for a moment a very good family man, who
is a loving husband and caring father. It’s a Friday evening and after a long week he’s going for a night out with his friends. He kisses his wife and kids and then heads for the bar to meet up with his friends. One drink turns to two and then four and continues until he’s ready to come home. He gets into his car, completely intoxicated. He begins to drive. He doesn’t get too far before he’s pulled over by the police. He’s asked to step out of the car and asked to perform the usual checks. He’s asked to touch his nose but he can’t even find his nose. He’s asked to walk in a straight line and can’t do that either. He’s asked to take the breathalyzer test and he’s actually so drunk he doesn’t know who he is or what he’s doing. Thankfully this man was pulled over by the police because there could have been another outcome. Somebody could have been killed, he could have been killed. Now, he is not a bad man, he is a good family man but he got intoxicated.
Now, I want to ask you this question. Are you intoxicated? No, I’m not talking about alcohol
intoxication…I’m talking about your thoughts and your negativity level. Are you intoxicated with negative thoughts? Negativity can cause the similar effects as being drunk. You’ll be off balance and unable to find the nose on your face. Living Under the Influence With alcohol, you can have some in moderation and excessive alcohol leads to intoxication. The interesting thing about the negative thought level is that is starts with what you see. Then as you see more and more negative things, you start to have excessive negative thoughts. Like driving under the
influence of alcohol, you could also be living under the influence of negativity. I like to call this LUI. Living like this will eventually have a devastating effect. I’ve had experiences in my life where I’ve had a very high negative thought level. I was living under the influence of negative thoughts, negative feelings and negative emotions. I was constantly thinking about all of the negative things that were happening and that had happened in the past. I was even thinking about the negative things that might happen tomorrow or the next day

Example: Abraham Lincoln, when he was working with General
Ulysses Grant, used to always get these reports on how General Grant was a drunkard. He was said to be a very heavy drinker. But Lincoln knew that General Grant was amazing when it came to winning battles. He knew that winning battles was Grant’s strength. Lincoln’s view on this was straightforward…As long as being a drunkard was not interfering with Grant's strength in winning battles, Lincoln wasn't going to do anything about it So, for the most part, Lincoln ignored it. If he had chased behind General Grant to try to get him to correct all these other things that didn’t really impact or even apply to what it was he was doing, it would have been wasting time. General Grant’s strength was in winning battles and he was doing a great job.
I’m not saying that business is about ignoring all the different weaknesses you have. What I am saying is that when it comes to building success just focusing on everything that’s wrong, everything that’s missing, everything that’s empty, and everything that’s weak won’t bring you success.

When it comes to measuring your business success the question that you need to continually ask yourself is: Am I there yet? asking yourself is if you are measuring your progress towards whatever it is that you’re looking to accomplish. If you aren’t measuring anything, how can you know if you accomplished anything… especially in relation to where it is you want to go. In order to measure, there are two questions that you have to look at. The first of these questions is: How do you know if you’re being successful? How Do You Know If You’re Being Successful? When we talk about measuring in business what we’re really talking about is not just measuring things that are easy or measuring things that are convenient. You need to measure the things that count. You
need to measure the things that are important. It is possible to mis-measure. Just as people can
mismanage time and mismanage resources so too can they mis-measure. What I mean by this is that when measuring, you can leave out the measurement of things that will show you whether you have some momentum or whether you are actually succeeding. If your only point of measurement is the destination, reaching whatever the objective of your goal is, and you miss all the incremental steps in between, then you’re probably going to miss out on the fact that

If your only point of measurement is the destination, reaching whatever the objective of your goal is, and you miss all the incremental steps in between, then you’re probably going to miss out on the fact that

Motivations And Success
This report focuses on your motivations and how they can affect your life, business, even your health. Experiences are supposed to be the best teachers. In my experiences, it took getting shot to turn my life around. I’m not going into the details of how I ended up getting shot, but I will tell you how I ended up in that situation in the first place. There were two killer motivations that led to that situation. Killer Motivations Killer motivations are things that drive you to take actions that go against your character or your values and what you really stand for. Are you motivated to do things regardless of whether they go against your beliefs? Are you motivated to do things just so that you will look good? If you answered yes, this is killer motivation number one.
Are you motivated to do things so that you don’t look bad? If you answered yes, this is killer motivation number two. As a human being, you look for acceptance from other people and in most cases, you probably thrive off the human interaction and acceptance of the people in your life. You enjoy having the respect of people that you look up to or value. Sometimes though, this can drive you to do things that you don’t really want to do. You do them because you want to look good or you don’t want to look bad. This becomes the driving force and ultimately you override what you really stand for. When I look back on my life and my situation, I can
see I was doing things because I wanted to look good to the people I surrounded myself with and not look bad in from of them. Getting What You Deserve It’s easy to say you were in the wrong place at the wrong time and it’s easy to say you were in the right place at the right time but the fact of the matter is, they are both products of the decisions you made. Look at your life and see if you’ve been getting what you deserve based on your motivations. There may be a lot of negative experiences based on the motivations behind the decisions that led to these experiences. New Motivations Now, look at your life and imagine what you want. Then change your motivations. There are so many different ways that you can be motivated. You need to narrow this down to two or three very distinct motivations that not only motivate you, but also create a filter. You want this filter to show you that if it doesn’t fit with your vision, then it isn’t relevant or necessary and therefore doesn’t require your attention.

Robert Browning Take a minute to digest this. Browning makes a very valid point. You reach a point in your life, when you know without question and you believe in your heart of hearts you know what’s really possible for you. there are certain things you will not tolerate in your life anymore. There are certain relationships you won’t tolerate. You won’t tolerate them because you know they’re impeding your progress. You know they’re creating a certain amount of paralysis on your path to becoming successful.
Here’s a question for you: What are the top five things you tolerate right now in your life or in
your business that you wish you didn’t? Your list should contain things you’re tolerating by
choice; things that are optional and not things you have to tolerate. What are your top five things? Think about that for a moment. Now, here’s a follow-up question: How has tolerating
these things impacted your life or your business? What’s the direct impact on you? Sometime you tolerate things you know are irritating and you just think it’s something you should do. Why? Because you’ve never taken the time to really analyze what tolerating these things can cost you. If you can understand what it’s costing you, it will start a certain shift in you, in your thinking, that will make you want to change. Now focus on this question for a moment: Going
forward, what would be the impact on your life and in your business if you continue to tolerate
all these things? Think about this intellectually; really associate what this will cost you if you continue to let things go on, if you continue to tolerate the things you shouldn’t. Once you have compiled your list and given this some thought, focus on eliminating these tolerances. What
specific actions can you take to help you remove the things that you no longer need to tolerate?
Celebrating Successes. The following quotes are inspiring, insightful and can produce actionable things to move you in a positive direction. One of my mentors is Mike Murdock and this is one
of my favorite quotes from him. Desire is to want something but passion is the refusal to live
without it. I look at the proof of passion as being your persistent pursuit of what it is you want

If you want to learn how to play to win in business there are a number of questions that you’ll need to ask yourself. For the purpose of this, I want to share with you a scene from Rocky Balboa that’s probably one of the most memorable scenes from that movie. If you've
seen the movie, you will probably remember it. If not, I do recommend you get the movie just to see this part. The last time I watched this film I was flying over to Australia. I was on the plane watching the move Rocky Balboa. There's this scene where Rocky and his son are in the street arguing. And then, Rocky says something to him that had me hitting pause and rewind repeatedly. I listened to it at least five times. Rocky looked at his son and he said, "It's not how
hard you can hit, it's how hard you can get hit and keep pressing forward." If you think about this statement you’ll be able to see that this actually sums up what success in anything
and everything is really all about. It’s not how hard you can hit, it’s how hard you can get hit and keep pressing forward. Life Is Full Of Punches When it comes to the question of success you need to ask yourself: Can you take a punch? In life we all have our punches. These are the ones
that we’re going to throw to succeed. When life however starts to hit back, can you take that hit?
This is what this report is all about. How you can take a punch and play to win. The first thing that you have to realize is that life is going to throw punches at you. Everyone knows this. These punches can often hurt. You can probably recall some of life’s punches and how hard they hurt. Of course, there are times where we do slow down, because of distance and the fact that we just can’t make it, but given the opportunity to make it…for most people, yellow means hurry up. Business success can be a similar thing so let me ask you: Do you understand the signs that are on the pathway to success? Many people don’t understand the signs and they require the services of a translator. They need an interpreter to help them to understand what the signs
mean on the road to success. There are many things that can happen when you are building a business or even just looking to transform you life and become successful. In this report, I want to talk about money.When it comes to money, remember one thing: You’llnever change what is in your hand until you change what is in your head. The things that you’re able to touch, see, smell and interact with are materialized because of the different thoughts that somebody has had. In this report, I want to explore what you’re thinking when it comes to money. What feelings do you have about money? What are some of your conscious or unconscious beliefs about money? After discussing all of this, I want to share with you some of the positive things I think about when it comes to money. You can take these beliefs on as your own affirmations, beliefs, thoughts or your own meditations. What do you consciously and subconsciously believe about money? Do you feel like money is a measure of self worth? When you think about money do you think about worrying all the time? Do you feel money is a thing of power or it’s a thing of respect? Does money equal self worth? Does money equal sex appeal? Do you feel as if money represents your social standing or maybe it impacts your social standing? Do you feel like money equals success or money is the solution to all your problems? Do you think people will respect you if you have money? Have you ever thought it was a sin to be wealthy? What do you feel about the sayings ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’ or ‘money is the root of all evil’? There are a lot of questions to answer about money, so take some time and go through these before moving on, so you have a good idea about your beliefs. These are all money beliefs that people have. Maybe
you have them now. I had them at one stage too. Do you think a certain scheme will solve all your problems? That was something that used to motivate me to constantly buy stuff people were selling in magazines and infomercials. I would go out and borrow other people’s money so
I could buy into the latest scheme…always convinced this was going to solve all of my problems.
Another widely popular belief is the idea that you have to have money to make money. Another is the belief that everything is so expensive. Is this something that you say to yourself?
